SACHI

Welcome to the website for SACHI, the SAndrews Computer Human Interaction research group (a HCI Group) based in the School of Computer Science. We act as a focal point for human computer interaction research across the University of St Andrews and beyond.

We focus on the study, design, fabrication, and role of digital technology in society. Our research sits at the intersection of computing technologies and real-world applications. We are uniquely interdisciplinary, bringing together backgrounds from social sciences, engineering, education, computer science, law, design, and creative arts, to name only a few. Leveraging our interdisciplinary nature, we have a diverse range of interests, including but not limited to: interaction design; sustainable futures; ethical and legal facets of technology; co-design; information visualization; healthcare and wellbeing; digital fabrication; tangible computing; digital inclusion and education; and digital humanities.

Members of SACHI co-supervise research students, collaborate on various projects and activities, share access to research equipment and our HCI prototyping workshop. Established in 2011, we now have a regular seminar series, social activities, summer schools and organise workshops and conferences together.
